Sixth Brussels Development Briefing focused on the new aid architecture

On July 2nd, CTA, Euforic, and other partners organised the sixth in the series of Brussels Development Briefings, entitled 'New drivers, new players in ACP rural development.'

This Briefing addressed the agricultural and rural development sector in the context of ACP countries, the role of private foundations (Gates, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, Rockefeller Foundation etc) and the role of emerging donors (China, India, Brazil, Japan) in ACP countries. The discussions looked towards the upcoming Third High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness being held in Accra on 2-4 September 2008.

The programme, presentations, speaker information, video interviews, and further readings are available on the Brussels Briefings website.

Earlier Brussels Briefings looked at 'Does Fair Trade contribute to sustainable development?', 'The climate challenge for ACP agriculture', 'Aid for Trade', 'Advancing African Agriculture' and 'Challenges to rural development in ACP countries.'
